700 North 1st St.
Minneapolis, MN 55401
(612) 333-7977
Price: $22

Guest Artist Performance with Interact Theatre starring Kevin Kling and featuring original music by Aaron Gabriel.

Interact Theater takes on Shakespeare as they celebrate Interact’s 20th Anniversary – and the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death – with Kevin Kling as playwright and lead actor, playing The Bard himself.  "What Fools These Mortals Be" is a mash-up of some of Shakespeare’s most iconic scenes, and in true Interact form, puts “the fool” front and center of the action.

"What Fools These Mortals Be" is a critical case of Fellini-meets-The-Bard, performed with Interact’s take-no-prisoners style of humor, and shedding new light on yet another layer of Shakespeare’s incomparable genius.  Serious drama, politically incorrect cabaret, clowning chaos, nothing-sacred humor, dance, music and story – you’ll get a taste of Interact's best during "What Fools These Mortals Be."

Now is the Time is a show that includes my live music, and live film projection by Tamara Ober, footage composed of Tamara’s dances as well as her movement in natural settings. As I perform, the film is projected onto me, incorporating my body and shadow into the performance. Our goal is to explore an emotional journey that speaks to the human experience of the four seasons.

Leonard Bernstein and Alec Wilder represent two iconic musicians who substantially shaped musical life in America. Many of Wilder's popular songs became classics, while Bernstein's masterful one-act opera is an ingenious example of social criticism.
