I changed this fast jig quite a bit. A solo clarinet line played in a slow, free style opens the tune with the gorgeous minor melody. When the flute takes over, the clarinet's long drones are reminiscent of uilleann pipes, the national bagpipe of Ireland. Later, the flute takes on this role. In the following call-and-response, I put the instruments in the same register so that it’s sometimes difficult to tell which is which.
